Resolving to Solve Your Debt Problems

Resolving to solve your debt problems at the start of a new year is great.  But most of us will fail. How can you keep your new year’s resolution?

When it comes to keeping your new year’s resolution, there are many paths to success.

I think many of us fail because too often we have a “one size fits all” mentality. No matter what your self improvement goal is – from losing weight, to quiting smoking to improving your household finances -  we tend to try to solve our problem with another person’s solution.  When it comes to getting your finances in order, make allowances for your preferences. What if you hate to budget? Years ago there was a very popular book, The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton that steered readers away from budgeting. That runs contrary to what most financial advisers would recommend but for many of us, his approached worked.
